Nitric oxide (NO) in the human body exists as Nitrite (NO₂-) and Nitrate (NO₃-), and the rate of change varies, so both NO₂- and NO₃- must be measured to accurately measure the amount of NO. PicoSens™ Total Nitric Oxide Kit is a product that can quantitatively detect Nitrite (NO₂-) and Nitrate (NO₃-) in various samples. NO₃- is converted to NO₂- by reacting with Nitrate Reductase, and NO₂- reacts with Griess Reagent to form Azo Dye and can be measured for absorbance at 540 nm.
