Description

Oxidative stress is caused by an imbalance between Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) and antioxidants. Excess accumulation of ROS can result in cellular damage such as DNA, protein, and lipid membrane damage. Peroxide, such as Hydrogen Peroxide (H₂O₂), which is generated under the condition of oxidative stress, is one of the typical products of ROS. It is toxic in eukaryotic cells and oxidizes DNA and lipid proteins at high concentration, causing mutagenesis or cell death. Peroxide-induced cellular damage is also related to the onset of many diseases such as aging, asthma, arthritis, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and neurodegenerative diseases. The OxiTec™ Hydrogen Peroxide/Peroxidase assay kit can measure Hydrogen Peroxide (H₂O₂) or Peroxidase activity using Oxi-Probe. It is a simple test method with high sensitivity.

This kit can be used to detect not only H₂O₂ in experimental samples (cells, tissues, etc.) but also H₂O₂ generated through enzyme-related reactions and even small amounts of Hydrogen Peroxide or Peroxidase activity.
