The Quanti-Micro^TM Biofilm Viability WST-8 Assay Kit measures the metabolic activity of Bacteria within Biofilm. After measurement, the bactericidal effect of the drug on Biofilm microorganisms is evaluated. WST-8, a water soluble Tetrazolium salt, reacts with NAD(P)H, an Electron Mediator produced by the metabolism of microorganisms, to produce water-soluble orange Formazan (Detection at 450 nm). The resulting water-soluble Formazan increases in proportion to the number of living microorganisms.
